Can I have a bag collection for garden waste?
Kerbside collections from a wheeled bin is now the only option
for garden waste collection in Northumberland. The use of
biodegradable bags is being phased out in 2010 in favour of using
wheeled bin, primarily for health and safety reasons. Biodegradable
bags are no longer for sale. Those residents who purchased
biodegradable bags in 2009 and still have some left can continue to
use their remaining bags in 2010, provided that they put out
their bags on the garden waste collection day. Those
residents in the former Alnwick area that previously
had re-usable sacks will no longer be able to use them during
2010.
