Pest Control
Northumberland County Council provides an expert Pest Control
service through our dedicated team of qualified technicians in both
domestic and commercial premises. We aim to provide a
complete, professional and cost effective service for everyone in
Northumberland.
Depending where you live in Northumberland, our in house Pest
Control Staff may call out to your property or a private contractor
may call.
Our

The Pest Control department can provide you
with fact sheets on all common household pests or
they can be downloaded here.
To report a Pest Control problem
telephone 0845 600 6400. When you call us your details
will be taken and an officer from the Pest Control department will
call you back to arrange an appointment. In some areas a
private contractor will call you back to arrange an
appointment.
NB please note there
must be someone present at the property when our technicians call
out. We will not enter premises or gardens unaccompanied for
our own security and health & safety reasons. We need to
leave advice and information with a responsible person
after our treatment.

For all other pests either inside or outside
your house there is a standard charge of £35.00 per visit.
These include:- Ants, Wasps, Fleas, Cockroaches, Bedbugs and
fumigations.

If you require advice, an officer can call to
your property for a charge of £22.00.
We do not treat for, amongst other things
bats, moles, slugs, snails, spiders, pigeons, rabbits, squirrels or
woodworm.
Advice on Bees / Bumble Bees
Some species of bumble bees are endangered, as a result we do
not treat bumble bees. Click on fact sheets link above to
download Bumble Bee Fact Sheet. Bumble bees if left alone
will not normally cause a problem, they are as a rule quite
dosile. Bumble bees do more good than harm.
Commercial premises
We charge for all Pest Control work on
commercial premises. Charges start from £59.50.
