Building Control
Northumberland is the most northern part of
the old Kingdom of Northumbria and along with the southern area of
Scotland known as the Border Country.
Covering 502,526ha the population of around
310,000 are widely spread but are mostly concentrated in the south
east of the county.
The Northumberland County Council’s Building
Control Service makes sure that public health and safety are
maintained in and around new and altered buildings.

The Building Control service of the Unitary
Council is split in to three areas, they are:
North Area
Includes:- Old Alnwick DC, Old Berwick BC
and the parishes of Morpeth, Cresswell, Widdrington, East
Chevington, Thirston, Tritllington and West Chevington, Widdington
Station and Stobswood, Ulgham, Longhirst, Pegswood, Hebron,
Longhorsley, Hepscott, Stannington, Mitford, Meldon, Hartburn,
Netherwitton and Wallington Demesne.
